Though the holidays are long behind us, the fun still never stops in Miami. What better way to pass the time or even take the hectic days off by hitting the beaches or attending an event or two? This week’s Miami events are jam-packed full of activities that you simply would not want to miss out on.

Looking for a sweet ride to call your own during your stay in your very own furnished apartment in Miami but could not simply find the right one? Why not opt for pre-loved cars. Over at Pompano Beach Elks Lodge, the BrightStar Credit Union is holding a Repo Used Car Sale. 80-90 cars ranging from trucks to minivans will be out for sale and/or for auction. The event will last until the evening from 8am to 4pm.

If you are traveling with family and/or children, here are a few must-go-to events during your trip to Miami. Miami-Dade County Fair and Exposition at Coral Way will be holding its annual Fantasy Theatre Factory’s Trash Monster at Miami-Dade County Youth Fair. This yearly event is targeted to the youth, wherein they will be taught how to recycle with the help of the Trash Monster. The fair runs from Thursday this week until April 5. The 64th Miami-Dade County Youth Fair will also be held in the same place for 21 days. Enjoy thrilling rides, live entertainment, petting zoos, shows, and a European styled circus that is certified must-go-to for the family. If your family are dog lovers, then you might want to hit Constitution Park for the Heidi Hewes Chapter of the Woman’s Cancer Association of UM for the Second Annual Bark Off on March 14. From dog walks to the Doggy Fun Zone, families will surely enjoy this fundraiser-benefit with their K-9 friends. All proceeds will go to the cancer research at Sylvester Cancer Center and the University Of Miami Miller School of Medicine. If you want something more exciting and exotic, Bank United Center will be holding Repticon: Reptile and Exotic Animal Show on March 14 to 15. Enjoy the company of reptile pet owners and vendors as well as be educated by the different seminars on how to care for our cold-blooded friends.

If you love dancing, then you’ll surely love the Flamenco Festival Miami 2015 over at James L. Knight International Center. Hosted by Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County, this marks the 8th season celebrating the art of dancing flamenco. The event will also be graced by Spain’s flamenco ambassador, Ballet Flamenco Sara Baras. The event will last until Saturday, March 14. That’s not all as the International Polo Club Palm Beach will be hosting India Night 2015 where not only one will be transported into the culture-rich India in support of the Salvation Tree Foundation but it will also host an event called Dancing with the Stars: Bollywood Style.

If you are a visiting history buff with an interest in World War I, you are just in luck as The Wolfsonian at Florida International University will be hosting the historical gallery/museum entitled Myth and Machine: The First World War in Visual Culture. The gallery focuses on the shattering relationship between men and machines during the war and on how this relationship defined the concept of war.

Fashionistas with big hearts will certainly love this fundraiser. The McCormick Place Miami will be holding the fundraiser-auction named Maxine’s Closet. The fundraiser is held in the memory of social work activist and Fashionista, Dr. Maxine Thurston-Fisher and is hosted for the benefits of marginalized children and youth and creates awareness for the Florida Foster Care Review (FFCR). Clothes donated by Maxine herself, designer clothing, and trinkets that are either new or gently used, will be on sale or for auction. The event will be on March 12 from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm.

Women’s rights activists and supports are encouraged to join W.O.W or World of Women event held at the Hyatt Regency Coral Gables at Alhambara Plaza. This marks the first time such an event will be held and will serve as a gateway for women from all walks of life to come together and learn from the best in the field of business and leadership. The event is also made to coincide with International Woman’s Day and National Women’s History Month.

Artists, especially poets, will certainly find new discoveries over at Nova Southeastern University – Alvin Sherman Library at Ray Ferrero Jr. Blvd. as they will be holding NSU Special – Let’s Speak Truth Poetry & Spoken Word Night. Admission is free.

Over at Magic City Casino, Radio Lollipop’s 9th Annual Improv Comedy Night will certainly tickle your night. Hosted by DJ Laz from HITS 97.3 and live music courtesy of Tony the Hitman, the event will feature a raffle and a lineup of the most hilarious comedians such as Nery Saenz, Eric Da Silva, Alex Morizio, Kim Manfre & Dominic Perenzin from the Have-Nots Comedy. All proceeds from the event will be given as benefits for the children in Miami Children’s Hospital.

Miami certainly gives sports fans everywhere an excuse to visit because of the number of matches it hosts. Over at BankUnited Center, the mixed martial arts competition between the USA and Cuba will be held on March 13 starting at 6 pm. The competition is the first of its kind and will feature the top fighters from both countries. Meanwhile, at the BB&T Center, the Southeast Division matchup between the Florida Panthers and the Winnipeg Jets will be held on March 12 at 7:30 pm.

Speaking of holidays, we all know that St. Patrick’s Day is coming up fast. If you are worried that you might miss out on the Irish festivities during your stay in your furnished apartment in Miami, you better think again. John Martin’s Irish Pub & Restaurant over at Miracle Mile Drive will be having a Pre St. Patrick’s Day Celebration from March 12 to March 14. On the 12th they will be having an Irish Trivia Night for those Irish fact buffs while the 13th is Irish karaoke night. Finally on the 14th is the Live Music and Sing-a-Long with Irish band Paddy Kelleghan from 7pm onwards.

On March 14, Fred B. Harnett Ponce Circle Park over at Ponce de Leon Blvd. will be holding their St. Patrick’s Day Festival. Perfect for the family, the festival will be overflowing of Irish culture from food to entertainment. Meanwhile, Fado Irish Pub will be holding their annual St. Patrick’s Day Block Party from March 14 to March 17. Don’t forget to wear green!
