Crank up the heat on the catwalk! This year marks a decade of clothes, shoes, bags, accessories, hair, make-up and all things fashion worthy. From July 17 to 21, Mercedes-Benz will be holding their fabulous event in Miami, Florida. This year will give special attention to swimwear. Way back in 2004, IMG Fashion brought their expertise at South Beach. For this event, MBFW (Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim) has teamed up IMG to create a platform for fashion designers to showcase their skills when it comes to their swimwear and Resort collections.
The runway lineup this year will include collections from Beach Bunny featuring The Blonds, Wildfox Swim, L*Space by Monica Wise, We Are Handsome, Suboo, Luli Fama, Mara Hoffman, 6 Shore Road, Poko Pano, Dolores Cortés, Caitlin Kelly Swimwear, Aquaclara, Minimale Animale and many more. There will be five days of runway shows, parties, poolside soirees, VIP events and of course celebrities gracing everyone with their presence.
Over the years, more than 200 designers have showcased their swimwear collections to almost 100,000 attendees. For this year they are expecting 10,000 guests to attend the weeks’ worth of activities which will be based at Raleigh Hotel. Apart from this there will be three more tradeshows in the South Beach area: Swim Show, Salon Allure, and Cabana.
To get the ball rolling, the annual MBFW Swim Kick-Off Party will have a special presentation to honor the different designers and their respective collections that have joined the MBFW over the years. Also, a fleet of 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class cars will be out for display on 18th St. and Collins Ave. 10 designers of the Swim week will create prints and wrap them around the cars.
