Miami is a city that barely sleeps so it is not a surprise to see it overflowing with all kinds of events. Even though the Holy Week is observed by Catholic citizens, there is no stopping the flow of events that run through the busy streets of Miami. The Downtown Miami Residents & Visitors Center will be holding the event #ShareEaster from April 4 to April 6 for fun-filled activities that will surely entertain the family. There will be an Easter egg hunt for the children to participate in as well. Another family-friendly event is Healthy Kids Broward/KIDS THRIVE at Flipany. The 12 week class series is intended for children to be able to create healthy meals while at the same time aims to make them appreciate the wonders of a balanced and healthy diet. The program will be overseen by FLIPANY’s staff health professionals from Registered Dietitians to Health Counselors. Over at the Museum of Discovery and Science, from April 3 to April 5 there will be an event called Joey’s Egg Hunt where the museum’s very own Joey the Otter scatters colorful Easter eggs for visitors. Eggs that will be collected will have the person owning a goodie bag – perfect for the kids and family to enjoy in.

If you would like to do something worthwhile or get in touch with your creative side over the Easter weekend, the Griffing Community Center will be holding Jewelry Design Classes where attendees will be able to learn the art of jewelry making. From earrings to necklaces, eight classes will all be for $36. If you aim to learn how to dance, you can always trek over to Siga la Vaca Restaurant as they will be hosting Free Tango Classes and Milonga in Miami every Wednesday night at 8pm.

Over at the Bakehouse Art Complex is the Karla Caprali: Sweet and Sour exhibits. Here, art enthusiasts will be able to see the symbolism and imagery behind domestic and foreign war through the eyes of Karla Caparali’s textile works. The exhibit will run until April 4.

Meanwhile the Miami Lighthouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired will be hosting a Free Eye Exams & Glasses to Eligible Children in coordination with the Florida Optometry Eye Health Fund where the less fortunate can take advantage of this opportunity to procure free eye checkups and eyeglasses for their children. For those who are trying to cope with their stress, the South Florida Rehabilitation & Wellness Center, Inc. will be holding an event entitled as Stress Less. Live More. This is being done in celebration of April being the National Stress Awareness Month. The aim of the lecture is to have participants understand what stress is and how it can affect the people around them as well as to provide ways on how one can manage their stress.

Sports fans on the other hand may want to trek over to BB&T Center (formerly BankAtlantic Center) for the Carolina Hurricanes at Florida Panthers Southeast Division matchup which will be on April 2 at 7:30 pm.

Finally, over at Delray Marketplace, there will be a Marketplace Music Fest from April 2 to April 30 from 6pm to 8pm. This will be a free and open-to-the-public type of event where musicians from various places and genres will come together and fill your evening with great music. Don’t forget to bring a blanket or a lawn chair!
