Though there are not many big activity this week in Miami, it does not mean so are not worth checking out. From classes of baseball to crime solving, there is still so much to do. Here are a few of our own personal suggestions that everyone should give a shot. Who knows? You might like it too.

The Coral Gables Woman’s Club will be holding a fundraising class workshop entitled Think Outside the Box Art Class on August 19. Whether you are a professional or a budding amateur, you will not walk out empty handed as participants will be taking home their own unique piece of artwork. All proceeds for this event will be in the club’s Children’s Dental Clinic, which will help those children who cannot afford public health programs.

If you’re wondering any latest news in terms of plastic surgery or just want to know more about plastic surgery before venturing into it, Doctors Hospital will be holding an informative health talk with the topic “What’s New With Plastic Surgery” on August 20. This workshop is free.

Do you want to learn how to cook or do you want to impress your family and friends with new and improved cooking skills? Whole Foods Market will be holding a class workshop entitled Culinary 101 and it will have catering specialist, Mario Monte, as the guest speaker on August 22. Here aspiring home chefs will be taught on how to make those undesirable leftovers into tasty meals and how to create meal plans. This workshop is free for all.

If you love dancing then you should head over to Miami-Dade County Auditorium from August 20 to August 22 for the Annual IFE-ILE Afro-Cuban Dance Festival. There will be workshops and live performances as well as the premier Neri Torres’ choreographed production of Under Heaven and Earth.

Ever wanted to be a CSI just like Horatio and his team in CSI Miami, well, here’s your chance to live that life. The Museum of Discovery and Science will be holding a child-friendly activity named Crime Scene Solver Five-Day Camp Adventure from August 18 to August 21. Here your child could learn about how to be a crime scene investigator by collecting evidence and collecting fibers and fingerprint samples and during the weekend, kids will get to investigate a “crime scene” in the museum. Another one is History Miami’s Mystery, Mayham, & Vice Crime Bus Tour on August 22 with resident historian Dr. Paul George. Listen to real-life stories of Miami’s most famous mobsters, murderer, drug smugglers and other baddies throughout history in this one of a kind bus ride.

Are you a Marlins fan? Don’t miss the face-off between the Philadelphia Phillies and the Miami Marlins from August 20 to 23.

Over at the American Airlines Arena on August 20 will be Premios Tu Mundo (Your World Awards). This yearly awards show features the year’s hottest Latin music acts of the broadcasted live by Telemundo. Meanwhile, the Buena Vista West Neighborhood will play host to the first annual Community Pride Day on August 22 at North Bay Vista Park.
